Christmas really is coming! Here is a range of Christmas present ideas from Traidcraft, and buying them through the links below raises money for Christian Aid. If there’s not anything you fancy here – have a browse around the Traidcraft shop for more ideas.

Stocking fillers

Monkey skipping rope - £4 – skipping rope with hand-painted wooden handles, made at a project in Sri Lanka providing work and training for disadvantaged young people.

Bird whistles - £4.80 – hand-painted terracotta whistles with seven air holes, made by local people in poor regions in Peru.

Fair Trade Chocolate Santas and Snowmen - £1.40 – milk chocolate balls made with fair trade sugar and cocoa.

Little Box of Christmas Wishes - £3.50 – mini hand-made cards in a bamboo box made in the Philippines by a company providing job security and good working conditions.

Bead droplet set - £4 – beautiful hand-made necklace and earring set in copper and black glass.

Christmas tree candles - £4.50 – two white and one red candles hand-made in Bangladesh by fair trade artisans, many of whom are women.

Cat family jigsaw - £9.60 – a cute six-piece hand-painted wooden jigsaw puzzle made in post-tsunami Sri Lanka.

Gardener’s Hand Salve - £5.95 – fair trade Rosemary & Lavender gardener’s hand salve, made using olive oil, cocoa butter, shea butter and sesame oil.

Alpaca bunny rabbit - £26 – a cuddly rabbit hand-knitted out of alpaca fibres supplied by an organisation working with native hand-knitters in the poorer parts of Peru.

Recycled glass water carafe - £10 – a recycled glass carafe and glass made in Bolivia from bottles collected locally.

Pirate ship - £24 – a hand-painted wooden pirate ship complete with mermaid, made at a project in Sri Lanka providing training and jobs for young people.

Raspberry silk and cotton scarf - £10 - handmade in Vietnam by craftspeople working and training for a better life.

Silver & black onyx necklace - £60 – a hand-made silver and onyx necklace made by a craft group in Bali.

Fair Trade Christmas hamper - £60 – a Vietnamese water hyacinth basked filled with yummy Fair Trade Christmas treats.

Silk paisley belted tunic - £45 – a woman’s tunic in printed silk made by fair trade producers in India.

Recycled aluminium baskets - £32 – baskets made from recycled aluminium made by a craft group in Indonesia.

Over £60

Case of fair trade wine - £80.40 – a case of fair trade wine from Argentinean and Chilean wine producers.

Elephant bedspread – £90 – a hand-appliquéd cotton bedspread made in India by local craftspeople.

Cameo glass painted floral table - £90 – a hand-made table with a hand-painted inlaid glass top, supplied by a group in Peru supporting local by craftspeople.

Lastly, don’t forget the wrapping paper and Christmas cards.
