'So what do you give your Dad to say 'thanks' and
'I love you'?

June 21st is Father's Day in the UK and Andy Jackson looks around the ‘net to see what gifts can be bought for your 'old man'.

Dads are great. They normally let you stay up later than your Mum, not as strict, lend you money, and are a cheap taxi service. Even when you're 38!

So what can you give the perfect Dad?

DIY and/or Gadget Dad

Black and Decker Powered Adjustable Auto Wrench

This could be classed as a DIY tool that isn't really needed but great fun to use and will be very much appreciated by Dads everywhere.

It's an adjustable spanner but instead of having to twist something to get the spanner to fit the not, you press a button and hey presto, it adjusts to the right size automatically. Just imagine how thankful any Dad who has to adjust nuts under a bath or car will be.

Get fit Dad

Wii Fit

If you want your Dad to get fitter or he is a fitness fanatic, but hates jogging in the rain, why not buy him a Wii Fit?

It's a great way to lose weight/get fit and do 30 minutes exercise without the boredom of just using an exercise bike or the expense of a gym. Look at You Tube for clips of people secretly filmed trying the Wii Fit Hula Hooping exercises!

Rock Dad

Tomy Guitar RockStar

As seen on The Apprentice during the TV sales task, this gizmo is for Dads who appreciate playing the guitar, either to folk music tracks or to hard rock anthems.

No musical ability or other equipment required, 8 pre-programmed songs, strum the guitar by breaking the infrared beam, play the chords with your fingers and it only requires 3 x AA batteries (not included). Let's rock!!

Yet to grow up Dad

Remote control camper van

Need I say more? A lean, green, remote control VW camper van. You know your Dad will love it!

Virtual gifts

Sometimes a virtual gift is a different way of making your Dad feel happy. Presentaid is Christian Aid’s virtual gift store with a range of presents that help communities across the world.

Your Dad will get a card explaining what you have given to Christian Aid on his behalf, so why consider giving a can of worms, a set of pigs, the salary of a teacher for a day, a water pump, or medical equipment? It's win-win, for everyone.

Nigel’s Eco-Store

Nigel owns an eco-store, where he sells lots of eco-friendly products.

Why not buy your Dad an energy saving products, such as a new kettle or clock, or something from Nigel’s laundry and cleaning, lounging and lighting, clothing and carrying, eating and drinking, sleeping and bathing, garden and solar, travel and wind-up, sports, office, gifts, water saving, eco-books or DVD sections?

Amazon Gift Vouchers

Vouchers can be a bit of a cop-out but at least it means your father will get something he wants, rather then something we children thinks he wants.

Use the link above and Christian Aid will get a percentage of what you spend.

See Tickets

Does your Dad like a good concert or show? If so, why not buy her vouchers to see Michael Jackson, Oasis, Wicked, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, or hundreds more shows and gigs across the UK? Again, use the link above and Christian Aid will get a percentage of what you spend.

Happy Father ’s Day to Dads everywhere!
