Dancing Ant

'It’s winter time so why not a snowball game.'

As we come to the end of the year a mixed bag of games from across several categories.

Some games require your browser to have a 'plug in' for Shockwave. You can download this for free here here

If you are a parent, we advise you to try the game and the site it's on first before letting your kids play them, to make sure you're happy. (And, don't forget, you can also find great games for kids in our own Global Gang area).

To play a game, simply click on its name.

Snack Smart
Help your little ones think about what foods are good for them by guiding your shopper through the supermarket purchasing more healthy food than junk. Try not to ‘accidentally’ buy chips and pop. As if.

Spy X: Spy training
A series of tasks, puzzles and missions for your young spies to carry out.

A flying game

Paper Airplane Flight Simulator
It does exactly what it says on the tin. Change the angle, thrust and elevation to alter the final destination of your virtual paper dart.

Target games

Defend Your Computer
Viruses, worms, trojans and a whole heap of spam advance on your computer. You defend yourself with a laser beam. Gain cash for successful defence; upgrade your defences after you have earned a bit of cash. If any of the attackers get through they hijack your ability to defend yourself.

Snowball Warfare
It’s winter time so why not a snowball game. Ruthlessly take out the enemy. With snow.

Stickit
Use the cannon to fire balls at similarly coloured balls and break off a cluster of three or more.

Tile games

Hexxagon
An Othello-like game involving jumping around a board multiplying and converting.

Jigsaw Puzzles
Nice little programme for cutting and shuffling a jigsaw which you then piece back together using the mouse.

And finally, for no reason whatsoever except we were slightly amused by it.

Dancing Ant
Take one cartoon ant. Mix the backing, the rhythm, the music and the dance moves. Just for fun; not for winning.
