'Win a copy of 'Follow the star' by Nina Mead, illustrated by Cathy MacLennan.'
|
This competition has now closed. The winner was C. Falvey from Cambridgeshire.
Surefish.co.uk has a copy of the new book for Advent, 'Follow the Star', to be won.
The book has been written by the Rev Nina Mead, a retired teacher and United Reformed Church minister.
It is meant for young families to read together and tells the stories of celebrations that take place now, while exploring some of the ways in which the birth of Christ helps people who live in the poorest parts of the planet.
There is a story for each day of Advent as well as suggestions of things to do and prayers.
The first stories are about people at the time of Jesus' birth, followed by stories from the present day.
The book has been lavishly illustrated by Cathy MacLennan, a Zimbabwean-born artist who is inspired by African art and culture. Cathy has written and illustrated three children's books and 'Follow the star' is the first time she has interpreted someone else's work.

The book costs £12 and can be ordered using this PDF form or from amazon.co.uk
